~ Arcadia |
Summary[]
Arcadia is a play level feature that was introduced in Version 8.5.0 (13th of May 2022) as beta, and was rolled out for everyone in Version 9.7.0 (2nd of February 2023). For players still with Evil Fog to uncover, the floating island of the Arcadia is located in the upper right part of the Evil Fog clouds in the Camp, and it requires at least 2,000 Dragon Power to be unlocked. After it is unlocked, it moves to the right part of the Camp outside of the map and it floats above the Dragon Missions.
Several times Arcadia has been updated by the developers, but notably one update as shown next brought 'life' in the form of cloned dragons with harvesting availability flying about the Island.
Update (20th of September 2022)[]
New features were added to Arcadia in Version 9.3.0 (20th of September 2022).
- Previous to the new features the Guardian Portals showed just a cloned Dragon egg of the associated dragon breed to that Portal. Once the new features were added, a cloned Dragon that matched the highest level of the Dragon from In Camp play was shown and could now freely fly about Arcadia and would have at least 1 stamina to harvest.
- Also an Arcane Pack containing an Arcane Plant Seed, an Arcane Engine, an Arcane Rock Fragment, and a Treasure Crystal was introduced as free to gain to players through a 3-day timer. The Arcane Pack helped players to accelerate their play through supplying the Arcane Plants and Arcane Rocks to collect through merges to Level 4s that could spawn needed items such as Arcane Orbs and Arcane Chests.
- Finally, the Arcane Dragon breed was introduced as a reward dragon. Levels 1 through 4 of the dragon were gained through achieving the Common, Rare, and Legendary Relics at a Level 5.
Dragons are coming to Arcadia! You can now summon Dragons on Guardian Portals to harvest Level 5 Relics! Also, you'll be able to progress further with a newly-introduced free Arcane Pack and you'll have a chance to meet the Arcane Dragons!
But because of the following live-in-play:
- Beta roll-out timing seemingly missing the bulk of regular players.
- Updates with changes to drop rates and spawn levels that seemed to only reduce the objects in play.
- A multi-day sleep timer applied to all the cloned dragons increasing players sense of having nothing else to do in Arcadia.
- The introduction of new objects such as the Arcane Pack and later the new merge chains of the Arcadia Trees, Arcadia Fountains, and Arcadia Towers increasing players concerns of never finishing the board let alone the chains.
- And, the staged new appearances of new dragon breeds such as the Arcane Dragons and later the new Arcadia Tree Dragons, Arcadia Fountain Dragons, and Arcadia Tower Dragons that were in 10-1 odds of getting more Arcadia Trees from Common Relics before finishing any of the Arcadia Fountains from Rare Relics and Arcadia Towers from Legendary Relics,
Players took to discussion boards and frequently complained. To see these discussions and for more information, you can visit the Merge Dragons subreddit.

Relic Chains and Relic Fog[]
The land of Arcadia is hidden behind 65 ascending levels of Arcane Fog. The Arcane Fog can be cleared by activating Arcane Orbs earned as byproducts from merging up Relic Chains which consist of 5 levels of unique Arcane riches contained within Arcane Chests. Arcane Chests are available for purchases within the Arcadia Shop and may also be earned as Event or Seasons rewards, or created within Arcadia by other mysterious means. The higher the level of Arcane Fog, the more Arcane Power needed to lift it. However, the odd-numbered Arcane Fog gates hide a special Relic Fog, which can only be cleared by first discovering the final Level 5 Relic created by merging up those Arcadia riches. The Relic presents as a harvestable 2x2 shrine or tribute dedicated to 1 of 33 unique Trophy Dragon breeds. Each new Relic Fog uncovered unlocks a brand new chain of Arcadia riches within the Arcane Chests, thus increasing the diversity of an Arcane Chest's possible contents.
The unique chains for Arcadia riches are divided into three scarcity types: Common, Rare, and Legendary. The Trophy Dragons associated with Common and Rare chains are occasionally available as out-of-Camp Event Rewards, while most Legendary types are on offer as Seasons Exclusive Dragons. Once players first discover a given Level 5 Relic, the Relic Fog may be cleared and some exclusive Arcane Dragons will be sent to Camp. Lift the Relic Fog to reveal a Relic Guardian Portal alongside a few additional rewards, such as Arcane Chests, Dragon Gems, and/or Giant Dragon Gems.
Note: In previous versions, the Arcane Dragons rewards are more generous - up to level 7 and 8 Secret Dragons, however, in recent update [], the rewards have been reduced.
To further progress within Arcadia, players are encouraged to fill out their Dragon Book, max out the Season and Event Portals in Camp, and complete each limited-time activity when offered.
Common Relics[]
Level 5 Common Relics can be harvested for one Level 2 Small Arcane Chest and then be destroyed for four Level 3 Great Arcane Orbs. As soon as the Arcane Fog is cleared out though, the harvest process for Common relics changes to receiving 1 Arcane Chest, along with 4 Arcadia Trees, at the equivalent level of the cloned dragon guarding that portal. A clone of Level 10 for example, will receive 1 Level 4 Gold Arcane Chest, and 4 Level 10 Giant Arcane Trees on harvesting the Level 5 Relic.
There are 11 Common Relics, including:

Level 5 Rare Relics can be harvested for one Level 3 Silver Arcane Chest and then be destroyed for four Level 3 Great Arcane Orbs. As soon as the Arcane Fog is cleared out though, the harvest process for Rare relics changes to receiving 1 Arcane Chest, along with 4 Arcadia Fountains, at the equivalent level of the cloned dragon guarding that portal. A clone of Level 10 for example, will receive 1 Level 4 Gold Arcane Chest, and 4 Level 10 Arcane Waterfalls on harvesting the Level 5 Relic.
There are 14 Rare Relics, including:

Arcane Orbs[]
As said above, each Relic is divided into 5 levels. When you merge any objects of the Relic chain (level under 5), they also create Arcane Orbs as a by-product while there is still Arcane Fog to clear. The level and the amount of Orbs created depend on the rarity type and the level of the objects. The table below shows the information about all the Arcane Orbs:
Level | Orbs | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Tiny Arcane Orb | Tap to gain 1 Arcane Power. |
2 | Small Arcane Orb | Tap to gain 3 Arcane Power. |
3 | Great Arcane Orb | Tap to gain 10 Arcane Power. |
4 | Giant Arcane Orb | Tap to gain 30 Arcane Power. |
5 | Ancient Arcane Orb | Tap to gain 90 Arcane Power. |

Arcane Level and Arcane Power[]
The land of Arcadia is covered by Arcane Fog, which is separated into 65 areas unlocked by increasing your Arcane Level. Each Level requires a certain amount of Arcane Power. To upgrade your Level, you have to collect the Arcane Orbs. The higher the Orb's level - the more Arcane Power it provides.

Arcane Guardian Portals[]
Further updates introduce Dragon Stamina, Arcane Chains, and harvestable final level Relics. The three new chains are Arcadia Trees, Arcadia Fountains and Arcadia Towers. Each Guardian Portal is now assisted by a level scale with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 8, the higher the level of the summoned clone, the higher the level of the portal. Each level also has a unique design.
If players have discovered the Dragon breed associated with the Relic Guardian Portal from play associated with In Camp, a clone of the highest level Dragon can be summoned to Arcadia to unlock a bounty of Arcane Chests as a reward where the player's highest level of the Dragon (excluding eggs), gains the biggest rewards from upgrading (as shown in the Portal Review of Rewards center image below).
In play indicators In Arcadia that a Dragon Level has been increased through play in Camp are shown in Arcadia as upward arrows on the Portal (see left-most image below). The player must click the up-arrows flowing Portal to receive the next Rewards and will be given a Congratulations screen on success (see right-most image below), as well as the Arcane Chests. Each further attainment of increasing the Dragon Level per dragon will result in getting the Rewards, including on initial discovery, if you presently have a high level of the Dragon from In Camp, you will receive each of the Arcane Chest reward in Arcadia successfully up to the current Guardian Portal Level.

A clone dragon is summoned with a certain amount of stamina provided by the portal, ranging from 1 (for all Tier 1 dragons) to 5 (differs for every level of Tier 2 dragons). This stamina can be used to harvest level 5 Relics or level 5 and up Arcane Chains. The amount of stamina for each level of portal is shown in the table below:
Arcadia Guardian Portal Level | In Camp Cloned Associated Dragon Level | Rewards that are Summoned | Harvest Stamina of Each Cloned Dragon | Arcane Chests Harvested from | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Once the stamina of a clone runs out, it will return to its associated Guardian Portal to go to sleep for 5 days (does not differ according to level) before waking back up. You can wake up your dragons whenever you want during this period of sleeping by spending a minimum of 50 Dragon Gems or a maximum of 250 Dragon Gems (according to the level of the clone).

Arcane Harvesting[]
The clone can now harvest level 5 Relics once for one Level 2 Small Arcane Chest, one Level 3 Silver Arcane Chest, or one Level 4 Gold Arcane Chest (infrequent). Once a level 5 Relic is discovered by its Portal Guardian Dragon, it can be harvested first, then blasted by the dragon with a hit point of 100, until destroyed and turned into a colorless and immovable state. In this colorless and immovable state, the Relics can be hit one more time, and thus destroyed by the clone for four Level 3 Great Arcane Orbs or four Arcadia Trees of a level depending on the dragon level that destroys it. Both acts of destroying do not require stamina but it does require the player to wait for the dragon to drop the Arcane Chest or that the dragon is tapped to cause it to both drop its chest and be dragged over near the harvested Relic or near the changed colorless and immovable Relic.
All Relics Uncovered[]
Tapping the Arcadia island from Camp takes you to a landing page that shows the Level 5 Relics gained and the Camp Rewards as a result. If the Relic is not yet discovered, the Relic square remains grayed, and if the Camp Reward is not Claimed, the Relic square is given a green highlight (not shown) that goes away once you claim the Arcane Dragons rewarded.
(Note: The initial opening page from Camp shows only 27 of the 33 relics in Arcadia and it must be swiped left to show the remaining 6. The image below has been merged to show all 33 relics in one view.)
If the Relic is discovered, the Relic square is fully colored, and selecting it from the landing page shows the Arcane Dragon rewards for discovering that Level 5 Relic. For example, in the image following with the relic square given a yellow highlight, the Onesie Dragon Onesie Relics were merged to a Level 5 and the Camp Rewards awarded 4 Level 3 Arcane Dragons which here are shown as Already Claimed!.
Arcadia Chains (and Dragons)[]
Since the update [], there have been three new chains in Arcadia, including Arcadia Trees, Arcadia Fountains and Arcadia Towers. Each chain is divided into 13 levels. There are 3 level 1 items of each chain scattered throughout the map at different Arcane Levels (Arcane Tree at level 10, Arcane Fountain at level 25 and Arcane Tower at level 40). Once found, players can start finding more by many means including lifting more Evil Fogs, merging associated Relic Types (Common Relics for Arcadia Trees, Rare Relics for Arcadia Fountains and Legendary Relics for Arcadia Towers), which the chain's items can be founded as by-product instead of Arcane Orbs and destroying level 5 Relics for the associated level of the dragons (up to level 10).
Every item in all chains from level 5 and up can be harvested for Common Relics items, which consumes stamina. Once a level 13 item is created, a clone can harvest it once for one Legendary Arcane Chest before it turns into the same colorless and immovable state similar to the level 5 Relics after being harvested but with a hit point of 2500 and can also be destroyed by any clone dragon types and breeds for some lower level items including 2 level 11, 3 level 10, 3 level 9 and 4 level 8.
Players can receive a certain number of dragons from the three new Arcane Dragon Breeds (including Arcadia Tree Dragons, Arcadia Fountain Dragons and Arcadia Tower Dragons) once for discovering a new level item in the associated chain. Except for the level 13 items, which can be claimed multiple times and are shown in the Arcane Chains book. The table below shows the number of dragons that players can receive from each level
[STILL TO DETAIL] Below are details about each chain and Arcadia Dragon.
Why Get Highest Level Portal Dragon Breeds in Arcadia[]
What Dragons Are Used For[]
Given that there are 33 dragons involved in Arcadia as follows for:
- Guarding the Portals (and taking extraordinary long resting time periods following use of harvesting stamina), to
- Harvesting then destroying Level 5 Relics to obtain merge chain materials needed for Arcadia Trees, Arcadia Fountains and Arcadia Towers, to
- Using the Arcadia Trees, Arcadia Fountains, and Arcadia Towers merge chain materials to merge those to higher levels (to Level 5 and above) for those to be harvested from for new Level 1 Relics objects to lastly,
- Destroying Arcadia Wonders, and getting rewarded with high level merge chain materials for the Arcadia Trees, Arcadia Fountains and Arcadia Towers, as well getting the reward of Whelps from the Arcadia Tree Dragons, Arcadia Fountain Dragons and Arcadia Tower Dragons,
It follows then that upgrading all the dragons associated with the Guardian Portals to a Level 10 is not done in a day and that the criticism of "Arcadia proceeding slowly" is a truthful state. Specifically, #2 above is providing you with exactly the Arcadia merge chain materials that directly correspond to the level of the cloned dragon that you have in play. In order to move the Arcadia merge chains along faster, you'll want the most reward, and so getting to the Level 5 Relic is great, really great, as it allows you to unlock the Guardian Portal Fog, but harvesting it and then destroying it for maximum purpose puts you in the play of wanting to bubble it perhaps, and only use your maximum achieved dragons to continue play.
Players wanting to move ahead at destroying the Relics will have a greater return of both Arcane Chests and Arcadia merge chains with their dragon level at the highest. The merge chains are accomplished that much faster because every Relic, every time, is destroyed by a dragon breed that has been upgraded to its highest level. Otherwise, the destruction of the Relic yields what is more "easily" gained just through basic merging. If you want 4 Level 4s of Arcadia Trees, Arcadia Fountains, or Arcadia Towers, use a Tier 1 Level 4 dragon for these merge materials in a 13-level merge chain. To max out results for 4 Level 8s of the same merge chains, use a Tier 2 Level 10 dragon to harvest and destroy the Relics.
Choose to Build Your Dragons[]
It can be clarifying to review the Dragons in Arcadia to priority select these dragons and build on them in Camp to Level 10 before others. For example, for those working Honey Dragon in Camp it would be easy to build to Level 10 using multiples of the Sanctuary of Bees Wonder. But once you know the Honey Dragon is not used in Arcadia, a wiser choice would be working Prism Dragon to Level 10 using multiples of The Last Relic Artefact Wonder, or making sure you are ready with Season Exclusive Dragons (especially bothersome to FTP (Free-to-Play) users who have chosen to not activate the Royal Pass) to have all those Legendary Relics dragons of Autumn Dragons, Forbidden, Prism, Maple Moths, Royal Guardian, and Wild Gryphons rewards accumulating.
However you get those Level 10s though, the immense size of the Level 10 dragon will loom over the Portal and be quite impressive. as it either rests or flies about Arcadia. Be sure as well to prioritize Tier 2 egg picks from Season Decision Eggs in Camp to coincide with the Arcadia Portal Dragon Breeds if some are still below a Level 10 by placing those eggs in Camp or in Egg Storage and not leave bubbled, and when merging, remember to merge all but save one, so as to continue your hard won Tier 2 builds.
