General Tips for Out-of-Camp Events[]
The out-of-Camp Events usually follow a similar general pattern, although with different layouts and particular Cloud Keys each time. While this pattern is always subject to change, here is a general guide applicable to Events from early 2021 onward:
- Half of the Cloud Key locks are fairly easy to open, but the last few will require particular items that you will either only be able to create by merging items previously found on the map, or find on Dead Land tiles that require 50,000 Healing Power to restore (specifically the Fallen Star, the Golden Treasure Capsule and the Tanzanite Mystery Nest Keys). It's always worth opening them all though.
- There are several Harvester Dragon Eggs under the cloud unlocked by acquiring the Tanzanite Mystery Nest. Make sure to tap out the Nest before combining them, because you might be able to make a 5-merge with them! You may also be able to 5-merge the Tanzanite Mystery Eggs achieved from clearing the 500 Healing Power land.
- As an alternative, purchasing a patch of Prism Flowers for 10 Gems will allow you to grind through the Dragon Trees, Wood, and then Bushes Merge Chains to eventually produce a Ruins of the Sky Palace and get more Dragons long before you reach the Nest at the far end of the Event map. That is a LOT of grinding though and probably takes far more time in active-play than it actually saves, so the rest of this guide assumes that for the most part you're working with only the two Dragons you normally get.
- The Fallen Star Cloud Key unlocks a trove of Spellium Coins, normally 7, along with level 7 Event Point Items and 2 Giant Life Orbs, especially useful if your final heal didn't completely heal the land.
- Sometimes, a Cloud Key will require a high level Unlimited Event Harvestable, so make sure not to sell any of those, and keep them safely in a corner. You don't need to harvest from them or 5-merge. ALWAYS open all Cloud Keys, as the later ones can contain high-level Event Point Items, and there could be extra land to heal, preventing you from completing the "Heal All Land" Event Quest.
- Another Cloud Key may require a level 7 or level 8 Event Point Item, so use/merge the ones found under the Fallen Star Cloud Key.
- Don't worry too much about holding out for 5's of special Event items like Autumn Trees or Forgotten Flowers, the Event level provides enough to get everything you need even if you merge only in 3's. You do need to be careful not to tap out the Tanzanite Mystery Nest, Fallen Star or Golden Treasure Capsule before unlocking their Cloud Keys though!
- The level 1 Event Chests you'll find scattered around the Event level are very useful at the start, as they often contain level 3-4 Life Orbs, but are generally useless after, so don't bother opening them.
- Once you are completely finished harvesting for Event Point Items and have claimed all the Rewards, you can go ahead and sell everything possible. Additionally, the huge number of Brambles present at the end means you can easily make many Life Flowers, which can help complete Season Quests.
- Another way to spend the remaining time is to merge up all your Fruit Trees (for maximum output 5-merge Skulls of #1 variant, don't merge #2 variant, and let all the Fruit Tree Seeds harvested from them sprout on their own) until you get a few Large Fruit Trees (Raspberries), or even a couple of Nice Fruit Trees (Bananas), and use the Dragons' unlimited Stamina to harvest them for Fruits (either actively or passively). Passive harvesting requires removing all distractions beforehand. This way you can quickly generate thousands or even tens of thousands in Magic Currency, just make sure to claim all the treasure items before the Event's cutoff time!
Completing the Event[]
Passive Play Guide[]
- Heal land however you like until you reach the 500-barrier, then focus on creating 1-2 level 5 Twin Life Flowers and nothing lower than a level 4 Glowing Life Flower (trash any leftover level 2 or 3 Life Flowers). You should have at least 1 or 2 Young Fruit Trees by now too, so space those out somewhere away from the Flowers, and then let your Dragons auto-harvest Tiny Life Orbs while the Trees slowly spawn Life Flower Sprouts (and VERY rarely Fruit Tree Seeds) around themselves.
- Always let the Seeds sprout on their own (don't merge), and as you gradually collect Fruit Tree Saplings, merge them in 5's and continue spacing the Young Fruit Trees out, ideally so that all 8 spaces around them are empty and also not overlapping the 8 spaces around another Tree.
- Avoid merging the Fruit Trees to anything higher, since you only want them for the Life Flower Sprouts they produce and the more of them you have the better. Under no circumstances should you ever merge the Fruit Trees to a harvestable level (unless you've already claimed every prize the Event has to offer), or the Dragons will waste huge amounts of time flying back and forth to pick Fruit off them, then even more time harvesting THAT to produce low-level Coins, when all you really want them to focus on is Life Orbs.
- Similarly, avoid creating any harvestable Unlimited Event Harvestables yet, or the Dragons will waste a LOT of time harvesting those instead of Life Flowers. In case you have just a single harvest-source, either from merging accidentally or healing the field, you can remove it from the Dragons' action-options by tapping it once and then keeping it selected whenever not doing anything else. Note that they'll still fly over to it, but they won't begin the long process of actually harvesting it as long as it's selected, and will eventually go do something else, so keep it somewhere close to the Flowers. You might even consider selling it off, since you will find more and better items deeper into the Event's map.
- Now just check in occasionally (every 15-30 minutes) and mass-merge the Life Orbs (in 5s or multiples of 5 if you can quickly count them, otherwise just keep combining them all at once until there are few enough to count) as high as you can go before setting the game aside and waiting again, until you have at least 2 Life Orbs of Souls. At the same time, periodically merge the Life Flower Sprouts whenever all the Fruit Trees are surrounded by them, as long as you can get all the resulting Life Flowers up to at least level 4 Glowing Life Flower (at least 20 Sprouts to create one level 4, 33 - for two level 4s, or 50 to create 1 level 5 Twin Life Flower all in one go). If you can, then do that and sell off any remaining level 2 or 3 Flowers. Otherwise just move the Fruit Trees around to give them more empty space and continue accumulating Sprouts, until you can get up to a level 6 Brilliant Life Flower. You only need 1 for now, since two Dragons can work on it at once.
- Remember to re-select the harvest-source (if you have one) each time after clearing the field so the Dragons won't waste time working on it.
- When you're ready, set off both Life Orbs of Souls to heal almost all of the 500-squares and open a huge mass of Brambles and random items (and temporarily destroy your ability to autopilot Life Orb harvesting).
- The Dragons will start harvesting the Brambles and flood the area with Bones and Sprouts, greatly reducing their focus on producing Life Orbs, so work on cleaning up the area and push for one level 8 Life Tree Sprout which will produce a level 3 Life Orb with each harvest (remember 2 Dragons can work on a level 8 Life Tree at the same time), then sell off all lower-level Flowers so the Dragons have no choice about what to harvest and compress your Tree farm to take up less space (don't combine the Young Fruit Trees though). Repeat the above autopilot technique with occasional Orb-merging check-ins until you have at least 3 Life Orbs of Heavens which should be enough to heal most of the map (make sure you have unlocked the Event Quest requiring you to create 3 of them before you actually create them, otherwise they won't count and you'll have to make even more!). You may actually want to hold out for 6 Heaven Orbs, which should be enough to clear the map completely, since once you set them off, the Orb-harvesting autopilot-system will be destroyed forever. You'll still be able to harvest Life Orbs, but there will be a bunch of Unlimited Event Harvestables now too and it will take much longer to auto-harvest Orbs than before.
- Note that Dragons will on rare occasions harvest level 2 and level 3 Life Flowers from the Life Tree Sprout, which will start contaminating your harvest with Life Essence. Just sell or trash them when you notice it and merge or tap the hearts to clear them away again.
- Finally, once the map is all healed, sell off the Life Tree Sprout and any other Life Flowers. Similar to the Life Orbs autopilot-harvesting, let the Dragons work on harvesting Event Point Items and merge them in 5's until you have 2 level 9 event items, which should be enough to claim all 10 of the Event Rewards at once. For most players, 2 level 9 items should be sufficient, but there's a small possibility you'll need 2 level 10s. Check the current event's wiki page to make sure it's enough.
- The key is always to give the Dragons as little choice about where to work as possible, since they will always prioritize the least-productive or furthest-away option available. Try to merge the Unlimited Event Harvestables until they all produce level 3 Event Point Items when harvested, and remember to tap them every few minutes if you're playing actively to produce an extra item from each. Once you have a few additional Dragons working for you, you may even want to sell off the Rock Dragon you started with, since it is by far the slowest Harvester on your team but tends to be the first one to respond whenever you tap on a particular target.
Active Play Guide[]
- Phase I: Heal all land below 500 Healing Power. While doing this, try to 5-merge any Life Flowers, as you ideally want 2x Twin Life Flowers by the end of this process. Prioritise getting the Trophy Dragon first, as it will harvest much faster. Build up a collection of Young Fruit Trees (normally 2-4 can be made), and use Heal Extenders and Life Orbs from Event Chests to speed up your progress. Open all Cloud Keys possible to maximise your surface area. At the end, sell off any useless items (such as Plains Grass), and collect all leftover items in one corner. This stage requires about 1 hour of gameplay.
- Phase II: If you haven't managed to make 2 Twin Life Flowers yet, keep lower-level Life Flowers and allow the Young Fruit Trees to make Life Flower Sprouts, and 5-merge these to get the required level. Then, sell the Young Fruit Trees. While you make more Life Flowers (or not if you have enough already), harvest from the Twin Life Flowers (or Glowing Life Flowers) to completely fill the map with Tiny Life Orbs, until the next harvests are bubbled. Mass-merge the Orbs in one, and store the resultant Orbs so that they don't accidentally merge. Keep going to make 2 Life Orbs of Souls. IMPORTANT: This strategy relies on you continually tapping the Twin Life Flowers to harvest, otherwise your Dragons will go elsewhere. This stage requires about 75 minutes of gameplay.
- Phase III: Now you have your 2 Life Orbs of Souls, space out at different ends of the Dead Land and activate, so that as much of the 500 land is healed as possible. Merge all useful items possible and unlock Cloud Keys. Then, harvest from the Brambles and Bones to make loads of Life Flower Sprouts, and 5-merge or mass-merge them up. Normally, there are enough to make 2x Brilliant Life Flowers, or if you're very lucky, 4. In that case, you can merge 3 of them into a Giant Life Flower, which will harvest quicker. Sell all low-level Life Flowers, tidy up the land as before, and prepare for the grind. This stage requires about 30 minutes of gameplay.
- Phase IV: Harvest from your Brilliant/Giant Life Flowers, and make Small Life Orbs. A useful tactic during this phase is to use 'restriction zones', areas of the map where merging across it will stop the combo-merge, allowing for precise 5-merging of high-level Life Orbs. Natural restriction zones are large gaps in the map, merge over them to split the combo. If there are no holes, you can make your own restriction zone by placing a diagonal line of your useful items across about halfway in the map, to make smaller combos. Otherwise, harvest as in Phase II until you have made 5x The Life Orbs of Heavens and 1 Life Orb of Souls. Release to heal all the land (on very rare occasions, it might be not enough, so make a Giant Life Orb to finish it off). This stage requires around 6 hours of gameplay.
- Phase V: Having healed all the land, unlock all Cloud Keys, and 5-merge the high-level Event Point Items beneath. You will now have 4x level 3 Limited Event Harvestables (one is under the Golden Treasure Capsule Cloud Key) and the level 4 one. Move these to a clear area. Tap out the Tanzanite Mystery Nest and merge the Harvester Dragon Eggs. With your extra Dragons, harvest the level 3s and level 4 items for level 3 Event Point Items. 5-merge up to make 2x level 9 Event Point Items, which when tapped will give you every Event Reward. By harvesting from the level 3 Limited Event Harvestables, you will complete the Event Quests and collect the Special Rewards, including the exclusive Owl Griffons. This stage requires about 45 minutes of gameplay.
- Summary: The total time to fully complete an Event is around 9 hours, which is easily done over the three days. In my opinion, the out-of-Camp Events are the best feature in the game, allowing you to rapidly increase your Dragon Power, get rewards from the Event Portal, and do Arcadia. Feel free to play the Events in whatever way suits you best, but it's always worth going for the whole thing.
Happy Merging!
