Note 1: Unless stated otherwise, information on this page pertains to the out-of-Camp Events.
Note 2: The purpose of the Events Timeline infobox is to showcase at least 3 last Events. If there's no data available about upcoming Events, please avoid moving the entries to the "current"/"previous" fields and leaving other fields empty.
Summary[]
Events are time-limited implementations which usually have a theme and special, not available anywhere else rewards, such as Event Dragons and Event Trophies.
A required update to the Merge Dragons app is usually available 2-3 days before a new Event is due to start. Most Events can be played on older Versions, but the Den Events and the Wild Lands Events notoriously demand the latest update to be accessed.
Most of the time Events will start the Friday of the week of the Event update release and last for 72 hours.
In order to participate, an active internet connection is required. Any connectivity issues during Events will result in an inability to participate until a connection is re-established.
Types of Events[]
Out-of-Camp Events[]
An out-of-Camp Event was the first type of Event to be introduced in the game.
These Events unlock when you beat Grassy 3 and have at least 100 Dragon Power (before the Easter Event (April 2022) the threshold used to be 450 Dragon Power, before the Once Upon a Time Event (May 2021[1]) it was 70 Dragon Power, and before the Frozen Seas Event (September 2020) it was 35 Dragon Power).
The out-of-Camp Events may be accessed without updating the app to the current Version. Be sure to check the game support page to see the oldest Version a particular Event needs.
For the duration of the Event a new Level becomes available which can be accessed both from the Camp and from the Levels Map. Unlike usual Levels the Event Level can't be reset, but also requires no Chalices to start or re-enter.
The goal of the Event is to collect enough Event Point Items to earn all 10 Event Rewards. Event Point Items can be found by healing the Dead Land, unlocking the Cloud Keys, opening the Event Chests, harvesting the Limited Event Harvestables, harvesting and tapping the Unlimited Event Harvestables and from tapping the Event Quest Stars.
You can receive additional Rewards by completing all 10 Event Quests.
In-Camp Events[]
The next kind of Event to be introduced was an in-Camp Event.
In these Events to collect 10 prizes you need to earn Points by interacting with your Camp: merging items in 5s (Merge 5 Event), creating Merge Combos (Merge Combo Event), or tapping various objects (Camp & Chill Event).
- The Merge 5 Event was the longest running in-Camp Event, but as of November 2019 it's discontinued.
- The Merge Combo Event was released for everyone only once in July 2019 before its discontinuation due to unfavorable reviews.
- After two Beta trials the Camp & Chill Event was released for everyone in April 2021. To participate in it you need an active internet connection and at least 250 Dragon Power. Currently it's the only in-Camp Event available.
Seasons[]
In September 2020 Seasons were introduced to the game.
To participate in a Season you need a relevant Merge Dragons app update and at least 300 Dragon Power (before the 18th Sunlight Season (March - April 2022) the threshold used to be 3,000 Dragon Power, and before the 7th Equinox Season (March - April 2021) it was 2,000 Dragon Power).
In this type of Event you have 28 days to win 30 Rewards. To earn Rewards you need to collect a certain amount of points by completing Quests that deal with healing the Dead Land, merging or harvesting various items, creating the Goal Stars or Dragons, trading with Kala, collecting Dust Bunnies in the Dragon Homes Island and finishing Dragon Missions. You can complete these Quests both in Camp, in Levels and in out-of-Camp Events. Once you've gained the sufficient amount of points you will receive a Reward in a Loot Orb labeled "Royal Rewards" and will proceed to the next one.
Unlike the other types of Events, Seasons have two tiers of Rewards: one received for free and the other one only available to those who bought the Royal Pass with real money. The Royal Pass Rewards include Season Dragons.
The first two Seasons only had a limited release. And although starting from the 3rd Season (November - December 2020) the Event could be played by a larger audience, only the 12th Season (September - October 2021) became available to every player.
Den Events[]
Den Events are a new type of out-of-Camp Events. They were introduced to the game in March 2021. The first occurrence was a Beta test, released for a limited amount of Dens. The second Flufflands Event (26th - 29th of March 2021) was available to everyone.
As of May 2022, Den Events are on a hiatus.
The Chameleon Dragons and the Giant Lucky Coin Event Trophy are Den Events unique Rewards, introduced during second occurrence of the Event. The seventh Frogan Wells Event introduced the Frogan Egg as a new Event Trophy.
To participate in the Den Event, before the Event starts, you need to update your game to the latest Version and to either join an already existing Den or create your own (Dens unlock after you accumulate at least 400 Dragon Power). If you leave your current Den or try to join a new one in the middle of the Event, you'll be unable to continue playing, but will still receive all the Rewards you've already earned.
For the duration of the Den Event you can access a new Level, both from your Camp and from the Levels Map. As always, the Event Level can't be reset, but also requires no Chalices to start or re-enter.
To win 10 prizes offered by the Event you need to earn Points by merging various objects. Unlike the merging dynamic of the in-Camp Events, in Den Events the amount of Points you receive per merge is mostly determined not by items' quantity (although, merging 5+ objects gives you twice as much Points compared to merging 3-4 objects) but by their level. Meaning merging any number of objects will be considered as only one merge, and merging high level items will make you earn significantly more Points. To boost your Points gaining you can throw the level 5 Aureus Coins into the Divine Wishing Well, which will grant you a random Boon. For 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes the Boon will give you additional Points for specific Merge Chains or objects' merges. The Boons use most standard Merge Chains (Life Flowers, Fruit Trees etc.) as well as the Den Event exclusive ones (Wishing Well Coins, Mysterious Burrows and Small Fluffs).
The same with any out-of-Camp Event, you can receive extra Rewards by completing all 10 Event Quests.
In addition, a new tier of 4 Den Rewards was added. It unlocks after the 5th personal Reward and relies on communal effort. The amount of Rewards received is determined by the Den Score, which is a total sum of all Event Points earned by Den members. Trying to earn all Den Rewards by yourself is extremely time-consuming, so joining an active Den is recommended. All earned Den Rewards will arrive in the Camps of all participating Den members after the Event is concluded.
Wild Lands Event[]
Wild Lands Event is a new type of out-of-Camp Event that was introduced to the game in June 2022. The first occurrence (14th - 16th of June 2022) was a limited Beta test, but starting from the second occurrence (28th - 30th of June 2022) the Event could be played by everyone.
As of April 2023, the Wild Lands Event is on a hiatus.
Wild Lands Event offers two new Dragon breeds as its unique Rewards: the Gluttonous Dragons and the Mycelial Dragons.
To participate in it you need a relevant Merge Dragons app update, an active internet connection and at least 450 Dragon Power.
If you fulfill all the requirements you'll be able to access a new Level through the Event icon, both from your Camp and from the Levels Map. As always, the Event Level can't be reset, but also requires no Chalices to start or re-enter.
Unlike other Events, the Dragons created in the Wild Lands Event are considered "wild", and in order to use them you need to "tame" them first by feeding them Wildberries. Wild Dragons can only harvest Berries to consume them, and each breed can only consume the Berries of certain color(s). Tamed Dragons can harvest the Red, Green and Blue Berries to convert them into the Golden Berries of the same level, which can be fed to any Dragon.
Wildberries can be obtained by completing Event Quests. To accomplish a Quest's goal you need to tap special self-charging Conjurer Merge Chains and to merge the conjured items.
The Event's game field consists entirely of the Super Dead Land covered by the fog, which is unlocked one section at a time by taming available Dragons. Since there's no Life Flowers and no other means to obtain the Life Orbs, all land is healed through merging. Most items on the Dead Land are from the above-mentioned conjured Chains. Each new fog section will also hold a certain amount of Dragon Eggs, usually two or four Eggs of the same breed placed together for 3- or 5-merging respectively. Additional Eggs come in the Ancient Chests rewarded for opening each new area.
Another significant change is that the Dragons have the same Stamina limitations they have in your Camp. Harvesting the Berries spends their Stamina, and when the Dragon is tired it must go and rest in the Event-specific Exotic Dragon Homes for a short period of time, even if it's still untamed. Because of that most time is spent tapping the Conjurers, fulfilling the Quests and clearing the Super Dead Land.
At the conclusion of the Event all tamed Dragons will be sent to your Camp in a Loot Orb labeled "Event Reward".

Events Calendar[]
Events Calendar is the page listing out-of-Camp events in a gallery format.
Event Rewards[]
Every Event offers 10 prizes earned by collecting Event Point Items. Each received Reward will be transferred to the Camp in a separate Loot Orb with the text "Event Reward". The 29,950 Point total required to earn all 10 Rewards is roughly equivalent to one level 9 and two level 8 Event Point Items.
The Rewards listed in the table are what players could originally win.
Starting from the February 2022 the players received an ability to upgrade their Event Portal to get better Rewards.
The set of Rewards you can win depends on your Portal's level. Use the table of contents for quick navigation here to see the Rewards of a specific Portal level.

- * The Magnificent Dragon Star was available as a Reward only until the Ocean Breeze Event (September 2018). And the third Toy Event (December 2018) was the last Event to award the Life Tree Sprout.
- ** Most efficient combinations of Event Point Items required to receive all Rewards up to this point. Information courtesy of Macavity6 and Dragonia Den Guild.
- *** Between the Star Oasis Event (December 2020) and the Sakura Dream Event (October 2021) a new Rewards Point system was briefly tested game wide and was ultimately discarded as unfavorable. In this new system the last 4 Event Rewards required significantly more Points, while the Event Point Items were worth less:
Item's Level Original Point Value Altered Point Value 1 1 1 2 4 4 3 15 13 4 50 40 5 175 130 6 550 410 7 1,750 1,290 8 5,500 4,070 9 20,000 12,700 10 75,000 40,000
After Event[]
Once the Event is concluded, when you first visit your Camp you'll be offered to:
- Buy the next Reward for Dragon Gems if you didn't manage to earn all 10.
- Spin the roulette to double 3 Event Rewards out of all Rewards you've earned for 319 Dragon Gems (170 for Camp & Chill Event Rewards). If you're not satisfied with the outcome you can re-spin multiple times for 39 Dragon Gems per spin (20 for Camp & Chill Event Rewards).
Event Quests Rewards[]
Additionally you can receive the following Rewards for completing all 10 Event Quests:
- Level 2 Ancient Spring
- Nest of Owlet Griffon Eggs
- Level 3 Golden Tree
Trivia[]
- You can, eventually, always buy an Egg from the Egg Shop of the Event's Dragon, given you've unlocked the Dragon Whelp of that breed (with the Owl Griffons as an exception). New players can try and get the Whelps from the Challenge Levels.
- There will always be 6 Dragon Eggs and 2 Tanzanite Eggs in every Event map. As of 2019 it's generally 3 Eggs of slow-harvesting Dragon Type (Builder, Defender) and 3 Eggs of Harvester or Trophy Type Dragon.
- There will always be 3 cloud patches in the Event's level unlocked by the Tanzanite Mystery Nest, the Golden Treasure Capsule (see how it looks, for example, in the Secret Zen Dragon Capsules shop) and the level 2 Fallen Star that will contain no Dead Land. All fore-mentioned Cloud Keys can always be found in the top/upper right part of the Event's map, on Dead Land tiles that require 50,000 Healing Power.
- Events seem to take place almost every weekend, skipping no more than one weekend in a month, with old Events reoccurring many times.
- Any kind of holiday-related Event (Halloween, Thanksgiving etc.) is expected to be available again next year in the same month, though there can be exceptions and it won't necessarily be exactly the same. On other hand, any Event which is not time-related, such as the Magic Moon Event, can potentially reoccur many times across the year with no connection to the month of initial occurrence.
- The Ancient Games were supposed to be a recurring Event but didn't happen a second time.
