Summary[]
Happy New Year Event is the twentieth recurring out-of-Camp Event introduced to the game. The unique Event Rewards include the Dessert Dragons, the Chocolate Dragons and the Dainty Crystal Tree Event Trophy.
For the duration of the Event, a new level becomes available. It can be accessed either from the Camp or from the Levels Map. The goal of said level is to collect enough Event Points by making Crystal Fruit to afford the 10 prizes offered (which, once achieved, are sent to the Camp in separate Loot Orbs with "Event Reward" text). The level can not be reset, although it requires no Chalices to begin or resume.
In order to participate, the players must have an active internet connection and 100 Dragon Power. Connectivity issues during the Event will result in prohibiting the ability to participate and freezing the progress in the level until connection is re-established.

First Occurrence[]
The first occurrence, named the Happy 2021 Event, ran from the 1st to the 4th of January 2021, and was available for both iOS and Android. A minimum of 70 Dragon Power was required in order to participate in the Event.

Event Rewards[]
The Event offered 10 prizes, one for each tier of points accumulated. Every time sufficient points were achieved, the counter was reset for the next goal. The points could be achieved by tapping the Crystal Fruit which could be found either by harvesting/tapping the Crystal Trees, harvesting the Crystal Sources, healing the Dead Land, unlocking the Cloud Keys, opening the Crystal Chests and the Secret Happy 2021 Capsules and tapping the Event Quest Stars.

The 65,000 point total was roughly equivalent to one level 10 and two level 9 Crystal Fruit.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Starting from the Star Oasis Event (December 2020) the Point system has changed: the last 4 Rewards now require significantly more Points, while the Event Point Items are worth less.
Event Quests[]
For the duration of the Event 10 Quests were available (3 at a time). Upon completion each one granted an Event Quest Star which could be tapped for Life Orbs, Life Flower Sprouts, level 1 Crystal Chests, Crystal Fruit and Crystal Sources.
The Quests were divided in 3 groups - top star, middle star and bottom star. Once a Quest was completed, you could tap the "Next Quest" button in order to see the next Quest in line.

Four types of Event Treasure Capsules were offered during the Event. A Bronze Capsule could be gained for free once every 3 hours. The shop could be accessed from the bottom right of the screen and unlocked when you had at least 55 land healed in the Event level.

One-Time Offer[]
For the duration of the Event a one-time offer was available, which could be accessed from the middle right of the screen both in Camp and in Event. For 10$ (in the U.S., the price varied depending on the country of the user) you could get a level 3 Bon Bon Dragon, a Nest of Skeleton Dragon Eggs and two Amaranthine Chests.
Second Occurrence[]
The second occurrence, named the Happy 2022 Event, ran from the 31st of December 2021 to the 3rd of January 2022, and was available for both iOS and Android. A minimum of 450 Dragon Power was required in order to participate in the Event.

The Event offered 10 prizes, one for each tier of points accumulated. Every time sufficient points were achieved, the counter was reset for the next goal. * Starting from the Sakura Dream Event (October 2021) for the most players the required points for the last 4 rewards and the values of Event Point Items were reverted to their original state before the change in December 2020, so the 29,950 point total was roughly equivalent to one level 9 and two level 8 Crystal Fruit. Support couldn't give any definitive answer whether we could expect the same from the future Events.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have access to the Event Portal Upgrade you may receive a different set of Rewards depending on your test version and Portal's level. Please be aware that this feature is still in its Beta testing phase and not available to everyone.

Third Occurrence[]
The third occurrence, named the Happy 2023 Event, ran from the 30th of December 2022 to the 2nd of January 2023, and was available for both iOS and Android. A minimum of 100 Dragon Power was required in order to participate in the Event.
Unlike previous Happy New Year Events, this one used items associated with the Shimmering Stars Event and awarded an assortment of Event and Premium Dragon breeds that were introduced in 2022.
Event Rewards[]
The Event offered 10 prizes, one for each tier of points accumulated. Every time sufficient points were achieved, the counter was reset for the next goal. The points could be achieved by tapping the Zodiac Objects which could be found either by harvesting/tapping the Zodiac Sources, harvesting the Astrologist Toolkits, healing the Dead Land, unlocking the Cloud Keys, opening the Zodiac Chests and the Secret Happy 2023 Capsules and tapping the Event Quest Stars.
The prizes featured 9 different Dragon breeds, and depending on the level of your Event Portal you could receive either a Nest, level 1, level 2, level 3, level 4 or level 7 Dragons.
Players who had access to the Arcadia Beta feature received level 1-4 Arcane Chests as their 2nd Reward instead of the Tadpole Dragons.

For the duration of the Event a one-time offer was available, which could be accessed from the middle right of the screen both in Camp and in Event. For 10$ (in the U.S., the price varied depending on the country of the user) you could get a Nest of Bird Dragon Eggs, a level 3 Tadpole Dragon and two Galactic Chests.
Unique Behaviors[]
Similarly to previous Events identical nerfs have been made in order to make the level harder:
- Golden Apples Nerf - Golden Apples don't create any Dragon Chests. In addition, the merging barely gives advanced tiers, and the rewards are Life Flowers, Bronze, and Gold Magic Coins.
- Overall Dragon Chests Nerf - as with the Golden Apples, not even a single Merge Chain will grant Dragon Chests. The only way to get more Dragons is to make Wonders.
- Treasure Chests Nerf - like the two above, removed the drops of Dragon Eggs from Treasure Chests.
