Summary[]

Moving objects is a basic mechanic of the game. Whether you're rearranging your camp, (for aesthetic or for practical reasons), or if you're initiating a merge, you need to move objects.

Methods[]

You can drag objects around your camp or level, or you can instantly transport them to empty tiles.

Dragging[]

By tapping and holding an object while you drag it, you can move objects around the "board".

If the object is "earthbound", it can be moved from its current tile to another location. During a drag move, objects along the way are "jostled" in passing, but unmoved. If the final destination is unoccupied, releasing the object will simply place it there. However, if the are objects already there, several things may happen.

Unless you are causing a merge, if there is an object occupying the space you want to move to, it will be forced to relocate. (In effect, a seed could move a mountain). This can have unexpected consequences. If you are in camp with Require Overlap turned off, or in a level or event, the forced item might move to a location that results in a merge.

If the forced object is large, (bigger than 1x1), and there is no clear space to receive it, it will be bubbled (forced into a Loot Orb).

If the object is "airborne", (loot orbs, dragons), it can be dragged anywhere without disturbing other objects. Loot orbs can be "stacked", but doing so can cause the view of the items to become obscured. There is an invisible perimeter beyond which an item cannot stay. If you attempt to drop outside the perimeter, the item will jump back inside, and then you have to go hunting for it. (It usually jumps to the closest empty tile).

Teleporting[]

It's possible to move an object long distances, instantly. Simply select an item, and then tap an empty tile.

Large objects, (more than 1x1 tile in size), may act strangely. If there is not the correct empty shape, no move will be made. Also, the portion of the objects you "selected" must match the section of the space you are moving to. For example, if your are moving a 2x2 Bottomless Coin Vault, and select it by tapping the upper right quadrant, tapping the lower left quadrant of the target 2x2 tile square may result in no move.

Teleporting works for floating or fixed objects, but the destination must be a blank tile. (Teleporting over blank areas is not allowed).

Trivia[]

  • Dragging large objects may result in erratic movement if the object passes over a section where there is no tile.
