Summary[]
An Egg Nest contains Dragon Eggs and is a non-merging object.
There are 2 exceptions: Mystery Nest (Meganest) may be tapped for Nests along with Eggs; and Mystery Nest (Ultranest) can be tapped for Nests, only.
All Nests can be separated in two categories: regular Egg Nests (Nests of Dragon breeds) and Mystery Nests (Nests containing Mystery Eggs along with other Dragon Eggs).
For every Dragon breed there are two tiers of Dragon Nests, with Tier 1 Nests producing Eggs that will merge into level 1 Dragons, and Tier 2 Nests (created when you merge level 4 Dragons) producing Eggs that will merge into level 7 Dragons.
How to Gain[]
This is a short overview. For regular Egg Nests it mostly lists ways to obtain Tier 1 Nests. Tier 2 Nests come from merging level 4 Dragons, purchasing the Dimensional Jars with Gems from said merges, and from rare Kala trades only. Refer to a particular Dragon's page for specific sources.

Visuals[]
For regular Egg Nests Tier 1 and Tier 2 have the same graphics, but Tier 2 Nests usually appear bigger in size.
Regular Egg Nests may have a few graphical variations across different Dragon breeds, but Mystery Nests always look the same.
Nests of most Standard and some Special Dragon breeds have Variations 1-4. While Nests of most Special, all Event and most Premium Dragon breeds appear as Variation 5 (with an exception of the Den Dragons breed).
Nest Contents[]
Regular Egg Nests[]
There are 2 tiers of regular Egg Nests. Tier 1 Nests produce 3 to 7 Eggs, while Tier 2 produce 4 to 7 Eggs. The Egg type contained in the Nest indicates the type of Egg that will be produced.
Mystery Egg Nests[]
There are 4 types of Mystery Egg Nests: Tanzanite, Sapphire, Ruby Fire, and Aventurine. These Egg Nests will spawn more Eggs than a regular Nest, which is 5 to 7 Eggs. Tapping them can produce their respective Mystery Egg, along with the Eggs of breeds created when you merge those particular Mystery Eggs.
Mystery Nest (Supernest)[]
Mystery Nest (Supernest) contains all kinds of Eggs, including all Standard Dragons and Dragons that can be created from merging Mystery Eggs. It will spawn much more Eggs than a regular Nest. It can be tapped 17-23 times on average.
Mystery Nest (Meganest)[]
Mystery Nest (Meganest) contains all kinds of Eggs, including all Standard Dragons (sans Nature Dragons) and some of the Special Dragons, and spawns Nests in addition to Eggs when tapped. It can spawn over 100 Eggs in total (from the description). It can be tapped 16-18 times on average.
Mystery Nest (Ultranest)[]
Mystery Nest (Ultranest) contains 10 Event Dragons Nests (and only Nests) including the Aventurine Mystery Nest. It can be tapped 10 times precisely.

Trivia[]
- Nests in Loot Orbs are shown as empty.
- Previously, due to a graphical bug, Nests that had 2 or less Eggs left were shown as full upon re-entering the Camp. This has since been fixed in Version 2.2.0.
